Mobilty or whatever...

crutches

Two weeks ago I sat through and participated in a long but productive meeting.  A six month plan was mapped out for the corporation and although tired we were all pleased with the possibilities the hovered on the horizon.  Then I stood up at the conference table. It was the last able bodied step I was able to take.  That cranky right knee had gone as far as it was going to go.  It locked tightly in place. Future and plans suddenly seemed elusive at best. An emergency room visit later followed by a trip to the primary doc and then the orthopedic specialist,,,total knee replacement in mid-August.  Several professionals used words like "bone on bone" and "X weeks of recovery".  Groan...  I forgot to mention that I am moving on the first...to the other side of the Sound but oddly enough will be much closer to work therefore some of  the "green" goals are being met (AND the new home has gas heat, a real attached garage and a huge fenced yard for the pups)...the jury is still out on the corporate  agenda but what the heck...I can write policy and procedure from home.

I will not be participating in the photo challenge as I can not bear weight on the right leg.  As I am unbelievably ungainly on crutches adding a camera to the mix might prove dangerous to me and possibly any other living creature near me.  Trying to pack for the move is enough of a challenge but as there is no choice...it is slowly getting done...one box at a time.

In the mean time, I will write about this little life  and continue to follow the blogs of my cyber- neighbors.  Here to all of us...wishing everyone a happy remainder of the summer.

I feel for you with the knee, had mine worked on and the worse part was tearing my shoulder using a walking stick to get up and down.Sounds like you have a lot of sticks in the fire, wish I was helping with the packing, I am a packing maniac.LOLStill have some things in boxes from a year ago.Is this a new pursuit in business?

Oh no, I am so sorry!!! I literally feel your pain. I don't know if you were following me last summer, but I had total knee replacement then. It was very painful, I hate to say. I do hope that you will have someone to look after you for a while. You will not be in any shape to take care of yourself, house, and pets for several weeks. And therapy takes up quite a bit of time and you will need someone to drive you to and from those because you will be taking pain medication. It took me about 3-4 months before I had less pain than before surgery.

Please take care of yourself! I will be praying for you.

Hi Neighbors! How nice to hear from you all! This is a mess isn't it! :-) My son will be here before surgery and stay with me for a week. Thank goodness. The packing is a nightmare and OOTP I could use your 'packing maniac' skills right now. I'm moving to use less gas, spend less on dog care (no real yard at the current place) and to be closer to friends and family. The house was found before the knee went ~ of course! The knee is a disaster right now so even though I know it is painful after surgery, I'm looking forrward to getting it taken care of!

I'll be checking the photos for the challenge. Looking forward to seeing what every one has done!

Listen, if you have any questions about the surgery, just give me a holler! Best wishes on the new house and the upcoming move!

Hi Donna:

I probably will ask some questions. First I have to get this move under control. It is just a week away and have most of the packing to do. Of all the years... :-/
